Safety and Sanitation in the Workplace

Safety and SanitationImpact on the Organization

Contaminated products and work environments threaten a company’s very existence. Many organizations are required by law to maintain high levels of sanitation, while others do so simply to protect the health of their employees and customers. Regardless of the reason, proper sanitation is becoming an increasingly important component of business operations and safety – and, as this training program teaches, it is the responsibility of every employee.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how proper sanitation can ensure the integrity of manufactured products and improve employee safety.
  • Understand the different elements of sanitation and the role of personal hygiene.
  • Identify, anticipate, and resolve sanitary issues.

Program Description

In this module, participants discuss what sanitation is, and why it is so important in the workplace. Consequences of poor sanitation are discussed, including the ways in which good (or poor) sanitation affect product quality and customer satisfaction. Each type of sanitation task is introduced and defined, including cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting and sterilizing. Personal hygiene is discussed, and participants are asked to consider sanitation problems at their location and identify solutions to correct them. Participants are guided through potential sanitary issues and ways to avoid them, learning techniques for properly handling safety equipment, designing processes for using equipment, and improving warehouse sanitation.

Time Investment

Typically 4 hours.

Customization

This program can be customized to include your organization’s procedures, policies, cases, examples and terminology. Kindly inquire about these consulting services.
